I’m Patty. I’m an award winning quilter, author, designer, and all around general sewist.
I’ve been sewing since I was six years old, and quilt making since I was 18. Most of my childhood memories include fabric. I find the hum of my sewing machine cathartic, and will always love the sound of an iron pressing with a good jolt of steam. I’m fortunate and grateful that my lifelong passion for creating hasn’t waned and that I have the ability to create a little magic with my art every day. Creating brings me joy, comfort, peace and therapy.
I want Create and Sustain to inspire change in individuals and companies. I am happy to meet you.
I’m ChiChi, a fashion lover, a plant based food fanatic, a budding world traveler, and just simply a down-to-earth chick. I grew up in a household with a creative mother who could make something out of basically anything. There was always a sewing machine in the house and my mother constantly encouraged me to learn how to sew. She stressed the creativity and freedom of being able to modify ready to wear clothing and making clothing from scratch. I dibble and dabbled with sewing and reworking my clothing and later took it seriously a few years ago.
Now I create my own clothes using commercial patterns and self-drafted patterns. I have moved on to creating custom garments for clients; with a focus on evening wear and bridal. I call my blog my little creative space because I not only sew but I love to live life to the fullest. I am constantly learning new things and engaging in new adventures and this is where I hope to capture it all and share them with you. Hope you learn something and obtain some inspiration while you are here.
